Build and Fly

Build and Fly is a chapter program for young people. Questions? Email buildandfly@eaa430.org.

What it is

The EAA Young Eagles Build and Fly program lets kids build a model airplane with their own hands and then see it fly. Along the way they learn how airplanes are put together and what makes them fly.

Chapter volunteers work side by side with the kids at the hangar, one step at a time. It’s a great next step after a Young Eagles flight, or a fun way to get started.

Our chapter’s Build and Fly

Chapter 430 sponsored a successful Build and Fly program in 2023 and a smaller event in 2025. We’d love to hold more. If your young person is interested, or you’d like to help as a volunteer, email buildandfly@eaa430.org. Watch our Events calendar and newsletter for the next one.

All volunteers who work with youth complete EAA’s Youth Protection training and background check.

Inside the hangar, two radio-controlled model airplanes and their hand-held transmitters sit on small tables in front of a red and white Cessna

Kids and adult volunteers gather around a table in the hangar, gluing and assembling balsa glider parts
