Welcome New Members Rob and Joanna Stephens

I received my PPL in 1982. My father and I took ground school while I was a freshman in high school. We received our license the same day, although he received his about an hour earlier. I also have my Instrument rating, as well as AMEL. I’m renting from Rite Brothers currently as I await the arrival of my plane from the Czech Republic, manufactured by JMB aircrat, model VL3 916is with full IFR capabilities and oxygen.

I lived in South Lyon MI, Phillips WI, Ironwood MI, Two Rivers WI, Manitowoc WI and now Port Angeles WA since Sept 2024.

As a kid, air shows were a favorite event. I still remember the first time I saw the Blue Angles in person, visiting the Wright Paterson Air Force Base while in Boy Scouts, as well as the Johnson Space Center.

My wife, Joanna, is a retired physician and I retired from owning an injection molding company with my family, which we sold in 2010. Joanna and I also owned and operated the largest Alpaca Ranch in Wisconsin until divesting in 2020.

We enjoy being outdoors and enjoying all the Olympic Peninsula has to offer, specifically hiking and biking. I will pick up a golf club occasionally. I’ve volunteered with EAA for Air Adventure on the flight line as well as giving tours at the EAA Museum.
