Old Business

  • Treasury Tracy Halsted - (Ray) Our financial picture reflects funds of approximately $4800 for scholarship, $4400 operating and now over $200,000 in our building fund. Our fundraiser dinner raised over $19,000.
  • Membership Tracy Halsted - Paid membership now stands at 108.
  • Fly-out Barry Halsted - Our May destination was Harvey Field (S43), Snohomish WA with 8 aircraft.
  • Rick Vaux Ultralights Donation - Ernie Hansen is continuing efforts to sell the The Dream Classic w/engine that has been moved to storage at Diamond Point.
  • Scholarship Dave Miller - (Ray) Jazmin Stamper has been awarded the $12,000, 2025 EAA Ray Foundation Aviation Scholarship that she and Chapter EAA 430 applied for.
  • Nathan Nelson and Jazmin will be attending EAA Aviation Academy this summer.
  • Our 2024 Ray Foundation Scholar - Gunner Rogers - spoke briefly about his ongoing studies at UND. Gunner has just recently achieved his Instrument Rating and he expects to have his Commercial, Multi-Engine and CFI ratings by this time next year.
  • Young Eagles Bud Davies - The June 14th event is scheduled at Sequim Valley Airport (W28). Pilots are needed!! 60 kids are registered to fly and we need enough pilots and planes to have a successful event. Pilots - please contact Bud or any chapter board member to sign up for this rewarding opportunity.
  • The July event has been canceled, as there are numerous aviation activities in our area that are also scheduled that same Saturday. August is still scheduled and we may decide to activate our alternate date in September. No decision on that yet.
  • Flying Start Harry Cook - The May 17th event “wasn’t pretty, but it was effective.” There were some AV issues (and Harry made the best of the situation). Ray Ballantyne and Richard Howell were able to fly 3 of the 6 attendees, despite blustery conditions. Arrangements will be made to fly the remaining 3 attendees.

New Business

  • Ground School Discussion Group - (Ray) the conference room is available at Port Angeles terminal building. And, we could also meet at someone’s home. A large show of hands by those who would like to attend. Meeting dates TBA.
  • Arlington Hometown Fly-In (July 11-13) - Ray recounted a bit of history for Arlington Fly-Ins. We’re anticipating free airplane camping and even the possibility of a free meal or two for attendees. https:// www.arlingtonwa.gov/894/Hometown-Fly-In
